MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ANGEL TRAINS JOINS GOVERNMENT RAIL ADVISORY GROUP

Haydn Abbott, Managing Director of Angel Trains Group has accepted an invitation from the UK Trade & Investment governmental department to become Chairman of its Rail Sector Advisory Group.

RAIL MINISTER LAUNCHES ANGEL TRAINS’ FLEET OF RE-ENGINED HIGH SPEED TRAINS

Rail Minister, Derek Twigg MP officially launched Angel Trains’ new fleet of re-powered HST power cars at a ceremony at the Brush Traction works in Loughborough today (Thursday).

RESPONSE TO THE DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT’S REQUEST FOR A MARKET INVESTIGATION INTO COSTS FOR RAIL ROLLING STOCK

Haydn Abbott, Managing Director, Angel Trains said: “Angel Trains has invested close to £3bn in new trains for the UK in recent years, the largest level of investment undertaken for decades by a single company. ANGEL TRAINS INVESTS A FURTHER £34 MILLION IN THE FUTURE OF HIGH SPEED TRAINS, MAKING A TOTAL OF £74 MILLION

Angel Trains is investing nearly £34 million on upgrading the High Speed Trains operated by the East coast train operator, GNER. The work will include replacing the 30-year old Paxman Valenta engines in 20 of the Angel Trains owned HST power cars operated by GNER with new MTU 16V4000R41 engines. The upgrade work will also include an interior refurbishment and other reliability modifications.

EXTRA TRAINS FOR THE SOUTH WEST

Angel Trains has purchased 17 more Desiro 4-car trains to run on the South West franchise. (Press release issued by the Department for Transport) An additional 17 new four-carriage trains for the south west trains fleet were announced by DfT today.

ANGEL TRAINS INVESTS IN THE FUTURE OF HIGH SPEED TRAINS

Angel Trains has placed a £10 million contract with Brush Traction to commence the roll-out of new engines to 26 power cars in its fleet.
